The Gladstonian Journal

featuring Matt Roberts

I hugely appreciate high-quality craftsmanship and detail. Whilst a big fan of blending high street items with bespoke and designer pieces, there is just something that feels great about handmade accessories. The Gladstone G9 Gym Bag represents that quality, even if I throw in some cheap shorts.

I don’t follow one designer, I combine great items from different places. Saying that, I love Tom Ford, he consistently designs amazing pieces that make you feel great. Personal preference – I’m glued to my jeans, which I dress up or down. You just find your style and adapt around it!

Currently, I enjoy the redeveloped South Bank and Shoreditch. There’s a real vibe about them and they feel more like real London than many other places that have been conventionally the heart of the City.
Favourite restaurant currently is Sushi Samba. Great view. Bonkers food (Japanese-Brazilian fusion…) Great fun!

Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda in Italy. On the edge of Lake Garda, it is a combination of great location, luxury venue, amazing food, great spa and it’s a high service eco-friendly hotel.

I use Sisley products. I have my hair cut with Stefan at the Barber in Dolce and Gabbana on Bond Street. My tip after a workout is to take a long cold shower to help your recovery and let yourself cool down!

I really like using my Jabra headphones and app. They have an inbuilt, in-ear heart monitor and the app that tracks your running and workout routes, is user-friendly and is a great workout aid. I also like using my Babolat “Play” tennis rackets that track my game data!
